if the 12th Doctor is anything other than a white dude, which I dearly hope is the case, the ensuing fandom clusterfuck is going to be so necessary to the dialogue. sci-fi fans can be, and frequently are, the Complete Worst when it comes to misogyny and racism and fuckfaced ugliness, and I want a show that challenges that horseshit and highlights elements of sci-fi fandom that need to be shoved through the nearest airlock.
